What does a young babysitter do when things aren’t going just right?
And how about changing a dirty diaper?
Those are questions the Safe Sitter program answers for girls and boys who want to become sitters.
The Safe Sitter class runs for several hours and included information on everything from food choices to computer safety.
(Ashley Peterson, Safe Sitter Instructor) “We teach them that essentially they are their bodyguard. They’re trying to keep these kids safe, to keep their eyes on them and help protect them from any situation.”
(Addison Malchose, 11 years old) “You need to know how to do CPR, how to control a child when they’re not behaving right, and lots of other things.”
There are eight more Safe Sitter courses coming up at Trinity Health over the next couple of months.
