Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke will deliver the keynote address at the 26th Annual Williston Basin Petroleum Conference (WBPC) May 23 at the Bismarck Event Center.

More than 2,000 people from 34 states and 4 Canadian Provinces have pre-registered for the conference.

In a prepared statement, Zinke said the Williston Basin is an important element in achieving “American energy dominance.”

North Dakota Petroleum Council President Ron Ness praised Zinke, saying, “Zinke has been a champion for the hard-working men and women in the energy and agriculture industries. Our state has benefited greatly from his work.”

Zinke was sworn in as Secretary of the Interior in March 2017. He represented Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2014 until his cabinet appointment.

Zinke will join more than 70 presenters at the WBPC, including eight Bakken executives, six of whom represent the top ten producers of oil and natural gas in North Dakota.

Registration for the conference is open through May 24.
