171 total yards and three touchdowns. That will get you noticed. Our athlete of the week Trevor Mehlhoff did that at a position he wasn’t playing until a few weeks ago. During the summer, Shiloh coach Funnon Barker suggested Trevor move from his original position as tight end to the backfield to help out with the running game. Since the switch, Trevor has taken to it fully.

“I was all for it. Last year I had a few chances to do that. This year I really wanted to prove I could fit in as a fullback this year. “Going since sophomore year playing tight end, and now playing fullback, I feel a lot more confident blocking any type of guy whether it be a linebacker or a d end, I just feel really comfortable with that part of the offense. It was a lot of getting in the time, the rhythm. “

Trevor prides himself on being physical. He also plays linebacker in addition to fullback. The senior loves to mix it up and hopes as the year goes on, that physciality will hold up. He’s a got a pretty simple philosophy when it comes to playing this game.
“Making sure I make the first hit for sure. You either hit or be hit in this game and I’d rather be on the first end of the spectrum. I just feel we can be even more physical. There’s been times where we should eb there and we’re not there. We have a few more games and we’ll be ready for that, “
Shiloh’s got a tough one coming up on Friday with Kidder County. Both the Hawks and the Pirates had impressive first week wins.
