Two months ago, KX News reported that Bismarck Municipal Ballpark would host the 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series in 2019. Today that news became official.
Representatives from the Babe Ruth organization were in town to sign the contracts for the event. The signing took place this morning at 10:30 a.m. at the offices of the Bismarck Parks and Recs District. Babe Ruth League Senior Vice President and National Commissioner Robert Faherty says Municipal Ballpark and the city’s leaders really stood out during the proposal process.
“The ballpark is in immaculate condition,” Faherty said. “The Municipal Ballpark is something that we’d be very proud to play at. Second, we feel very strongly that the community leaders here want this activity and will make it successful.”
The 10-team tournament runs Aug. 8-15 of 2019.
