Bismarck Bobcats eager for first round matchup with Minot

National Sports

In junior hockey, the Bismarck Bobcats are back in the postseason after a two-year hiatus.

The Bobcats really heated up coming down the stretch. There was a period where the Bobcats did not record a regulation loss in 16 straight games.

In the first round of the playoffs, Bismarck will play Minot, a team they faced 12 times this year, but only beat four times.

Experience could be a factor but head coach Layne Sedevie does not seem worried.

“I think there’s a bit of a sense of urgency for the guys that were here last year that didn’t make the playoffs,” Sedvie said. “They want to create their own — or get they own taste of what playoffs are like.”

The first two games will be played in Minot starting on Friday. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m.
