Boys’ cross country: Century avoiding overconfidence ahead of 2018 season

National Sports

Century boys’ cross country has won the last two state titles, but the team isn’t going to let recent success lead to complacency before the 2018 season.

“I think we definitely have the greatest weight on our back, given that we won the last two state championships,” senior Hunter Hoheisel said. “I think that we should know what we’re doing, but we can’t really get too overconfident.”

The team has been holding optional runs throughout the summer to prepare for the fall campaign, which begins on Aug. 30.
