Century boys basketball has leaned on its defense so far this season, but the team is looking for improvement on its perimeter game.
In their first nine games, Century shot just 25 percent from beyond the arc.
The team recently shot 20 percent in a win over Legacy, and 36 percent in a loss to Jamestown.
Head Coach Darin Mattern says they don’t plan to stop shooting from downtown.
“We’re going to continue to take a lot of threes,” Mattern said. I think that’s kind of the makeup of our team. Once we get in better basketball shape I think our percentage will improve. Right now, I think we’re in that stage where we’re too tired to play offense right now because we’re expending so much energy on the defensive side.”
Century is at home tomorrow night against Minot, a team that shoots around 36 percent from three-point range.
