Boys HS Soccer: Bismarck faces tough road to defend state title

Sports

The Bismarck High Demons soccer team won the 2017 state championship, but 2018 is whole new match.

Bismarck has to replace eight varsity seniors and seven of those were starters.

The Demons hope to lean on what they learned from last year’s class and have the younger kids develop throughout the season.

“We’ll have a lot of young kids up there, but every is still pretty solid,” Senior outside midfielder Cade Evanson said. “That’s  how we scrimmaged last year. We scrimmaged against all the younger kids. We just got better everyday. These kids are just as good as us. I think we are going to be really good this season.”

The Demons first game of the season is August 17 against Fargo North at the East-West Classic in Jamestown.
