The Bismarck State men’s basketball team has lost four straight and is just 1-5 in six conference games.
In several of those losses, the Mystics have been shooting under 25 percent from three-point range, but there opponents have been shooting much better.
During this losing streak, opponents have shot at least 47 percent from the floor.
“We haven’t done a really good job at times with our defense, and we’ve played more zone,” head coach Buster Gilliss said. “Some of my former players will watch a video stream and they’re like, ‘Coach, you’re playing zone.’ That’s not really what I like to do, but you have to play what fits your personnel. Right now it seems like that’s where we’re at. We rebound a little bit better out of zone than we do man to man.”
The Mystics are at Miles Community College this Thursday.
