Bucks defensive back Antwan Smith explains why he came back for third season

National Sports

At the indoor football level, the Bismarck Bucks are still searching for their first win of the season.

This week, Bismarck tries their luck against the Iowa Barnstormers. Usually, the team plays on Saturdays, but their game this week will be on Sunday because of the Shrine Circus.

When you look at Bucks’ roster, defensive back Antwan Smith is the only longest-tenured player in the franchises’ three-year history. Here is why he said decided to come back for another season.

“When I first met Coach Miller,” Smith said, “he told me that things were going to be different from last year to this year. I’ve had full trust in him that it would be that way. [We have] a lot of more veteran leadership around now with Mike Tatum and John Gibbs came over and Brandynn Clark. It’s a lot more people who understand the game.”

The Bucks game on Sunday starts at 2:30 p.m.
