Hettinger-Scranton’s Ty Warbis hit two home runs in the same inning to highlight Day 1 of the Class B Southwest Sub-Region Tournament in Garrison.
Hettinger-Scranton faced the New Salem-Almont Naturals in the first round. Hettinger won the game, 16-0.
In the first match up of the day, Hazen dominated Belfield-South Heart. Belfield-South Heart is in their first year as a Legion program. The final score was 20-3 in favor of Hazen.
In third game of the day, Garrison battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Makoti. The final was 15-2 Garrison.
The last game of the opening round featured the top seed Velva and the four seed Hazen.
