Minot State fell 28-20 to Augustana Saturday afternoon at Herb Parker Stadium.
Augustana quarterback Ryan Rubley gave the Vikings an early 7-0 lead thanks to a 10-yard scamper into the end zone.
But the Beavers would answer on just their second offensive play of the game. Zac Cunha found receiver Lavante Bushnell down the field for a 32-yard touchdown. The PAT tied the game 7-7.
Soon after, Cunha would find Bushnell again, this time over the middle, and Bushnell turned on the jets to claim his second score of the day and Minot State’s first lead this season.
That lead would not last long. Late in the quarter, Augustana’s Rubley lofted a pass into the endzone, where Nickel Myers made a leaping grab despite tight MSU coverage. That play made it 14-14 after the first quarter, and Augustana finished the job with two more scores en route to the 28-20 win.
