UMary hockey head coach Daniel Huntley is busy recruiting a roster for the university’s upcoming hockey program.
He said at a recent luncheon that the Marauders Originals football weekend has been a helpful recruiting pitch for him, as he said the weekend illustrates to recruits the school’s commitment to alumni and highlights the prestige of being part of an first-year program.
Huntley’s been using that message wherever he travels as he tries to build a roster.
“Four provinces, two different states, of recruiting so far,” Huntley said. “We’ve got a lot of good interest. We’ll hopefully have some announcements of recruits in December.”
Huntley said he is still working on getting a conference affiliation for the team.
