College Softball: Dickinson State headed back to Nationals

National Sports

After missing last year’s NAIA national softball tournament, Dickinson State earned an automatic berth in this year’s field.

The blue hawks beat Jamestown in a best of three series to capture the North Star conference Tournament title.

Earlier this week, the team learned they will be the four-seed in the Fayette Bracket and the Sky Hawks are happy their season is still alive.

“We are excited to go into the opening round of the national tournament- whatever happens from here is all fun and games for us,” head coach Kristin Fleury said. “We have nothing to lose.”

“I’m going to just play my game- and not worry about who we are playing- and just do my best,” Abi Brooks said.

The Blue Hawks’ first round opponent will be the No. 6 team in the nation: Hope International College out of Fullerton, California.
