In college softball, the University of Mary is in Sin City, but the Marauders will not be partying. The trip will be all business.
U-Mary starts their 2019 season with five games in the Desert Classic. You should expect a little rust from the team, as they have not been able to practice outside so far this season.
The team also introduces a first-year head coach in Stephanie Roan and they also only have 14 players on the roster.
“I’m just going to be expecting them to compete,” Roan said. “We talk about don’t worry about the winning part, just compete. Come out every day, pitch by pitch, inning by inning, game by game. Do what you have to do to get better every day and play the full seven innings and whatever happens by the end of it lets just make sure better by the time we come back.”
U-Mary will play two games on Friday, one on Saturday, and two on Sunday before returning home.
