College Swimming: U-Mary hoping for best performance at Northern Sun championships

National Sports

The University of Mary swimming team is preparing for what they hope are season-best performances this week at the Northern Sun Championships.

The women are well rested because they have not had a competition since Jan. 20.

This season, the team earned three dual wins, and in the last victory the Marauders scored a season-high 160 points.

This year, UMary has more team members and they are using improved training techniques so the ladies are ready for West Fargo.

“Everybody’s been working super hard,” sophomore swimmer Alyssa Boese said, “and you can see it even at the meets. When we’re not tapered, we’re swimming faster than our best times, so conference should go really well.”

The championships began on Wednesday and go through Saturday.
