In college tennis, the University of Mary looks to build off an outstanding regular season at this weekend’s Northern Sun tournament.
U-Mary earned the No. 5 seed and will take on the No. 4 seed, Minnesota-Duluth.
What’s interesting is U-Mary just played Minnesota-Duluth two weeks ago in a match that they lost, 4-3. The women have not forgotten about the defeat and they really feel they can come away with a first-round victory this time.
“Most of us win the singles matches but it didn’t help because we lost the doubles,” sophomore Yursa Hegy said. “So they were one point ahead of us.”
“It was a really, really close match,” Sophomore Tasha Dembo said. “More concentration and going for every point.”
U-Mary’s opening round match is Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
