College VBall: BSC could make program history with district series win

National Sports

The Bismarck State volleyball team could make school history this weekend, if the Mystics can win the District G series they advance to the national tournament.

The last time the program played for the district title was 2013.  In that season, BSC lost to Central Community College.

As fate would have it, Bismarck State will face Central this weekend.

The match will be on BSC’s campus and the ladies know the strategy to winning on their home floor.

“Pass low,” BSC coach Jeni Walsh said, “run fast. We have to do that because of the limitations with our gym. The team that we are playing, they have been here before, not the players but the coach. So the coach is aware of the size of our gym.”

The first match is Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. The second match is Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. If there is a third match is needed the match will be at 1 p.m.
