College Women’s Soccer: UMary ready for NSIC tournament

National Sports

The University of Mary women’s soccer team opens the NSIC tournament against Minot State.

The No. 5 seed travels up to Minot State for the first round of the Northern Sun conference tournament.

UMary is making their first trip to the NSIC tournament since 2012, that year they lost to Minot State.

Coach Sarah Cook said this year is different because the team is “winning games”, but that’s not the only difference.

“The girls are pretty bought in,” Cook said. “It makes a difference getting some early results kind of changes the mindset of the group.”

These programs met to open the season, which was a 2-1 loss for UMary at home

The game is Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.
