Defense leading the way for Legacy boys basketball

National Sports

Legacy boys basketball came into the season with one of most inexperienced groups in the WDA, but they’re off to a 5-1 start. If you are looking for explanation, look no further than the defensive end of the floor.

Legacy is second in points allowed, giving up just 59 points a game, and they’re forcing 21 turnovers a game.

Senior Paxton Miller said the team’s hot start and strong defense haven’t been surprising to him.

“It definitely boost our confidence,” Miller said. “It’s going to show to other teams in the West that we aren’t a joke this year. We are going to be right up there with everybody else. Don’t take us for granted.”

Legacy is back in action this Saturday when they travel to Turtle Mountain at 3:30 p.m.
