Dickinson State softball finding more consistency at Tucson Invitational

After a tough start to the season at indoor venues, the Dickinson State softball team is finding more of a rhythm outdoors down at the Tucson Invitational.

The defending North Star champions have won five of the six games they’ve currently played down in Arizona to bring their overall record back over .500.

Head Coach Kristin Fleury says hitting throughout the lineup has been solid, and overall she’s seen the team focusing more on the fundamentals.

“We just really focused on becoming a team, executing the little things,” Fleury said. “I think we were caught up in the big picture of wins and losses, and we lost focus on just executing and doing the little things. We’ve made some mistakes, but they’ve been able to punch back.”

The Blue Hawks are in Tucson through this week Friday and will play eight more games there.
