National Sports

Dickinson State star defensive back Jay Liggins confirmed to KX Sports Saturday that he has reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Liggins said over the phone that has not officially signed with the team but plans to sign on Sunday.

The DSU football and track star recorded eight interceptions in his final season with the Blue Hawks. In his four-year career, Liggins amassed 151 tackles, 36 pass breakups and 13 interceptions.

According to sources, Liggins would be the first Dickinson State football alum to play in the NFL.
