Feb. 15 Friday Night Frenzy: WDA hockey, basketball, gymnastics recap

Bismarck High and Century boys hockey both picked up semifinal wins on Friday to advance to the West Region Tournament championship game.

Top seed Bismarck High defeated Dickinson 9-0, and Century beat Minot 4-1. The Demons and Patriots will play for the title Saturday at 4 p.m.

On the consolation side of the bracket, Mandan boys hockey won a loser-out game 5-1 over Williston. Saturday’s state qualifier games will be Jamestown against Minot and Mandan against Dickinson.

Dickinson gymnastics won its 20th region title with a 147.300 point output at the WDA Championships in Minot.

In WDA boys basketball, Mandan defeated Century 87-63. The two teams now have the same record in conference play at 14-5.
