In girls high school basketball, as the season starts to wind down the games become more and more important for West Region tournament seedings.
Coming down the stretch, Bismarck High is hitting their stride. The Demons have won five straight games, this includes wins against Jamestown and St. Marys — two teams they are currently battling with for the fourth seed.
For the Demons, their success is about doing the little things right.
“Just trying to score at the rim and just getting rebounds and pushing the ball up the court,” senior Hannah Golus said.
“When we are not lighting up the scoreboard up for 75 points,” head coach Bill Shelter said, “we know that we gotta get stops. We know that we have to hold teams under 50.”
On Tuesday, Bismarck has a big test when they host Mandan at 6 p.m.
