Girls’ HS Soccer: Bismarck motivated by missing state last year

National Sports

Last season, the Bismarck High girls’ soccer team needed a win in their final regular season game to make the state playoffs.

Unfortunately, a goal from St. Mary’s midfielder Britta Curl ended their season.

A third of last year’s roster graduated, but the Demons return two, second team all-state performers in sophomores Elle Hill and Rayni Voracheck.

Coach Andy Foss says he can tell early on in practice the way last year ended motivated his team.

“I think they were able to learn from that experience,” Foss said. “They’ve taken it into their offseason training. They have taken into the their first couple of practices here. You can tell that they are really focused and ready to get after it this year.”

Bismarck hopes to start their season April 12 against Legacy at the Sanford Sports Complex.
