In girls high school soccer, Century knows which areas they need to focus on if they want to improve on last year’s third place finish in the West.
The Patriots excelled at keeping the ball in most matches, but Head Coach Ryan Okerson says scoring was where they struggled last year. Century only scored more than one goal in three region matches and they were shut out in their two matches at the state tournament.
The team says finishing is going to be a top priority.
“For the next two weeks, we’re just going to work on striking with the forwards,” senior Kate Weigum. “That is it. The last twenty minutes we’re going to work on shooting because that was a big deal last year.”
Century opens its season April 5 against St. Mary’s.
