In girls high school soccer, St. Mary’s is going on their third coach in three seasons. Despite the high coaching turnover this team has qualified for State each of the last two seasons.
This year, Mike Fedorchak takes over, but he is not a new face. Fedorchak has coached some of these girls since they were in kindergarten continuing through eighth grade. The new head coach said one of the primary reasons he took this position was to provide stability to the program.
Here’s Mike’s philosophy on getting his players ready to play in a short time.
“We want to run practices that are in stations,” Fedorchak said. “They would be a little more intense but shorter in duration.”
On April 5, St. Mary’s plays their first game of the season against Century.
