Girls HS Soccer: Legacy sees loads of potential with young team

National Sports

In girls high school soccer, Legacy has hit a bit of a rough patch lately, but the girls are still competing hard on the pitch.

Since Legacy’s 1-nil victory over St. Mary’s, the Sabers have lost five straight matches. Legacy has one of the younger teams in the WDA, with several freshman seeing playing time. The older players expected growing pains, but they are excited about what this team could be for the rest of the season.

“Results aren’t there,” senior goalie Brooke Binegar said, “but overall, we are much better. We’ve improved a lot since past years. I think we have a promising team this year. It’s younger.”

Legacy looks to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they travel to Mandan.
