Girls HS Tennis: Bismarck needs strong performance in WDA to make State

Sports

The Bismarck High girls tennis team is looking to make a return trip to the state tournament.

As a team, Bismarck finished fourth in the West with a record of 7-5 overall and 5-3 in region play.

Bismarck is led by their top singles player Lauryn Andre.

Ahead of the biggest tournament of the year, Coach Erik Hanson has been preaching a consistent message.

“He’s just telling us to mainly have fun, but still be confident in our game and work hard for every shot,” Andre said. “Play hard and have fun.”

In the first round, Bismarck will face Mandan. Earlier this season, the Demons lost in non-counter action to the Braves, but won the region match, 5-4.
