The Legacy Sabers tennis team looks to make history this season.
The program is seeking its first state tournament appearance. Legacy will be one of the teams with a little bit of experience. The Sabers only lost one senior from the 2018 year.
This past weekend, the girls took third in the Minot Round Robin. When I spoke with Legacy, they said they are just getting warmed up early in the season, while keeping their ultimate goal in mind.
“I think it would be really cool to make it and be the first team for the girls,” senior Karissa Albaugh said. “It would just mean a lot for a lot of us in our senior year.”
“Four teams go to the state tournament,” head coach Scott McPherson said. “I’m not really concerned about where we are at right now, but I want to be one of the top four teams at the end of the season.”
Tomorrow, Legacy takes on the defending state champions Minot at home at 4:30 p.m.
