In girls high school tennis, Legacy is searching for their first state tournament berth in program history this season and to accomplish their goal they need a solid No. 1 player.
Right now, Legacy has a lot of parity on their team. Head Coach Scott McPherson said there are three players with a shot to take the No. 1 spot. Coach also said that if you are preparing for the season right now, you are too late.
“It’s going to be interesting to see how these challenge matches play out,” McPherson said. “I would say kids that have put some time in this winter primarily because we don’t come in off the summer season, where there’s that tournament season a probably going to have a little bit of an edge.”
Legacy opens the season Saturday in Minot at the Minot Round Robin.
