Girls HS Tennis: Mandan reacts to earning coach’s pick to win WDA

National Sports

What a difference a year makes for Mandan for the girls’ tennis program.

Last year, the Braves qualified for the state tournament before losing to Grand Forks Red River. This season, the coaches project Mandan to win the WDA. This would be a monumental accomplishment. The Braves have not won the regular season championship since 1978.

Mandan is solid at the top with Elizabeth Felderman and Kenna Vogel.

“It’s a pretty good to feeling to know that they think that we’re that good,” Mandan’s top-rated singles player Elizabeth Felderman said. “We have a lot of players back, so hopefully we can step up to the plate again.”

Mandan’s first home match is Thursday against St. Mary’s.
