In girls track and field, Dickinson Trinity will fight for its first title with a new head coach at the helm.
Craig Kovash has led both the boys and girls teams since the mid-2000s, but with the large numbers between the teams, Kovash says it made sense to split up the workload. Longtime assistant and Trinity head volleyball coach Breanna Sisson will lead the girls’ program this year, who’s glad to have learned from Kovash up to this point.
I’m still a jumping coach, but he’s definitely helped me come along,” Sisson said. “He’s just made it a really smooth transition into a head coaching position.”
Most of the girls from last year’s fourth place team have returned, but a key piece they’ll need to replace is state champion pole vaulter Faith Beck.
The first meet for the Titans is set for April 2 in Bowman.
