Girls HSBB: Legacy set to defend Class A State Title

National Sports

No team finished the regular season stronger than the Legacy Sabers girls’ basketball team.

The defending Class A Girls state champions had a rough start to the season. The Sabers were 5-9 on the first day of February.

However, Legacy closed out the season winning seven of nine games to make the tournament, while proving their doubters wrong.

“We have a lot to prove from last year especially since we lost a of seniors,” Whitney Thomas said, “being back in the state is a great accomplishment for us.”

Legacy’s state title defense start Thursday with a matchup with Davies at the Fargodome at 5 p.m.
