Hockey: Irey commits to play college for Bemidji State

Sports

The 2018-2019 season is already off to an exciting start for first-year player Kirklan Irey.

Right before the start of the season, the former Century hockey star committed to play hockey at Bemidji State.

Irey was a prolific scorer last season for the Century Patriots. He led North Dakota in goals, assists and points.

Bemidji signed him before he even played a game for the Bobcats.

“That’s the trust they show,” Irey said. “They’ve seen me play a couple of preseason games here in Bismarck and Minot. I think they knew from the get-go that I could play in the future.”

Kirklan has already found the back of the net twice this season and assisted on two other goals.
