If the weather is an indicator of what kind of tournament lies ahead for Bismarck’s Tim Kunick, his fellow competitors at the Western North Dakota Charity Pro-Am golf tournament may be hoping for a quick cold front. Kunick, who is competing in his 11th Pro-Am tournament fired a red hot 11 under 61 after the tournaments first round of play. Despite his stellar performance Kunick holds only a 3 shot lead over Kevin Koziol and a 4 shot lead over Charles Merzbacher with four golfers 5 shots off the lead. Almost equally impressive was amateur Cody Reynolds. The former state individual champion from Minot High who now competes for Minot State shot a 6 under 66 and holds a 4 shot lead over another former Minot State player Spencer Hilde with former Magician and Beaver Jordan Kelly 5 shots off the lead. The tournament continues Friday with championship action on Sunday.
