HS Baseball: Bismarck hands Century second loss; Mandan, Minot earn sweeps


The Bismarck High Demons upset Century to salvage a split during the second game of a doubleheader at Municipal Ballpark on May 10. In other action, Mandan and Minot picked up sweeps.

After losing 14-2 in the first game, Bismarck came out for the second game undaunted. The Demons put two runs across in the first. The second game would go 10 innings with Bismarck prevailing, 3-2. For Century, their overall record stands at 18-2, which is tops in North Dakota.

Over at Haaland, Minot swept St. Mary’s. The Magicians won Game 1, 5-1. Minot followed up that performance by winning Game 2, 4-0. In the second game, the teams only played five innings.

Over in Mandan, the Braves hosted Dickinson. Mandan won the first game, 10-4. The Braves were able to complete the sweep with a triumph in Game  2, 6-4.
