The Bismarck High baseball team is hoping to put the trials of last year behind them.
The Demons went just 6-19 last year, including a 4-12 record in conference play. The Demons biggest task will be replacing their top pitcher Jalen Ziegler.
Despite the tough year, head coach Jim Patton believes the team can learn from 2018 and make bigger strides in 2019.
“You can always take something good out of any situation,” head coach Jim Patton said. “Being successful lends to success. I think the kids that came back after last year, actually the last two years, have learned a lot from those two seasons–how not doing enough gets you where it gets you.”
The Demons are scheduled to begin the 2019 season in a nonconference matchup at home against Valley City on Friday.
