HS Baseball: Century celebrates first state championship

National Sports

The 2018 Class A Baseball state championships were honored by the school this evening.

The ceremony was held in the New Gym and featured a slideshow of pictures.

The team also honored former teammate Ben Berg by wearing t-shirts with his jersey number 13… Berg graduated in the summer of 2016 and died in the fall of that year.

Matt Miller is a senior on the team and he still cannot believe they are state champions.

“It feels great,” Miller said. “Winning the first state title for Century High School is amazing. For me being a senior and for the younger kids this sets the tone that we can win state. It’s awesome.”

This year’s baseball title was the first in school history.
