HS Baseball: Irey, Thomas return after playing in Hockey NITs

National Sports

The Century baseball team started off the season 12-0 and they won their first eight games without two very valuable players.

Kirkland Irey and Isaiah Thomas were in Plymouth Minnesota representing the state of North Dakota in the 2018 Boys Hockey National Invitational Tournament.

Irey and Thomas helped lead the team to the championship game.

As you remember, Irey and Thomas led the state in scoring during the high school season… and Isaiah talked about how he thinks he performed in the tournament.

“I thought I played alright,” Thomas said. “I had a couple of goals and a couple of assists. It’s just fun playing with some of the best players in the state. It’s just a high level of hockey. It’s fun level to play at.”

Irey and Thomas will be back on the diamond when Century faces Jamestown on Tuesday.
