HS Baseball: Mandan looking to replace pitchers lost to graduation

National Sports

Last year, the Mandan baseball team graduated a very talented senior class.

The biggest hit the Braves took was to their pitching staff.

Coach Dewitt Mack was very honest when he said he doesn’t know what to expect from this team three days into the season, but the players know they are going to need some help from the freshman and sophomores.

“We had a lot of pitchers last year that were really good for us,” Arenz said. “So we’re going to need pitchers this year. Youngers guys are going to have to step up like Duttenhefer, he may have to play a little. Noah Gerhardt he’s going to have to play first base.”

On April 3, Mandan plays their first game of the season against Bismarck High.
