HS Boys Basketball: Balanced scoring aiding Mandan

National Sports

Consistent scoring production is one of the big factors in Mandan o\boys basketball’s 4-0 start to the season, according to head coach Brandon Schafer.

Trae and Camren Steckler and sophomore Elijah Klein are all averaging at least 13 points a game, and Schafer added that other experienced role players have all made the Braves look poised to have a season completely different from last year’s 10-13 finish.

“Defensively we’ve been bringing a lot of energy and rebounding, and then on the offensive end we’ve been doing a nice job sharing the basketball, and we’ve had great balance with our scorers,” Schafer said.

The Braves will be in St. Cloud Wednesday for a tournament.
