In boys high school swimming and diving, there is a lot buzz around Mandan because of standout senior Johnny Mindt and deservedly so.
On Friday, Mindt eclipsed his team record and the pool record when achieved a score 340.1 in six dives.
As a team, Mandan has won two of their last three team duals. Their last victory on Friday was against Grand Forks, 118-68.
Senior TJ Reinhardt said the team is dropping times and getting better, but overall he said swimming is a hard sport.
“It’s really hard,” Reinhardt said. “Swimming is a hard sport. It’s hard to get into that mindset of wanting to swim 10,000 yards a day, but we just got to get there.”
This Friday, Mandan will be at home again when they face Williston at 5 p.m.
