National Sports

For the third straight year, the Legacy Football team is back in the playoffs.

And for the third straight year, the Sabers will be the No. 4 seed from the West.

Legacy’s season started out a on sour note. The Sabers lost to Grand Forks Red River, but the team kept fighting. Legacy notched wins against Dickinson, Minot and Williston to earn a spot in the postseason.

“We really need to take that step forward and get past the first round like we have not be able to do in years past, so we are just looking to do that,” senior running back and linebacker Diamonte Stugelmeyer said.

On Friday, Legacy will face West Fargo Sheyenne for the second time this year. Sheyenne won the first meeting 47-7.
