The last time the Mandan football team practiced this late into October was 2011, which was the last time the made the state playoffs.
The Braves are the No. 3 seed from the West. Mandan will face Fargo Davies on Friday.
The Braves are not sure whether they will have starting quarterback Dane Carlson healthy for the matchup, but if he is he will be sure to throw the ball to Elijah Klein, the school’s first 1,000-yard receiver.
Overall, the guys say this team just came together.
“Team chemistry has really stood out to us — to me,” senior linebacker and fullback Keaton Meschke said. “I think we are always supportive of each other as teammates. We always celebrate whenever anything good happens for anybody.”
On Friday, Mandan travels to Fargo for date with Davies at 7:00 p.m.
