HS FBall: Napoleon-GS ready to avenge last year’s playoff loss

National Sports

In 9-man football, Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter begins its road to the Fargodome this weekend when they host Cavalier.

Cavalier was the team that knocked out the Imperials in last year’s playoffs in a classic shootout. In that 36-34 loss, Jamison Fettig was knocked out of the game with a leg injury.

With a healthy Fettig, though, the possibilities are endless for Napoleon’s offense.

“We used him as a decoy in Oakes,” Kelly McCleary said. “We put him in motion and the whole field went to him. We threw it back to Ethan for a touchdown, so Jamison’s nice to have out there even if you’re not giving him the ball. He definitely makes the defense aware that he’s out there.”

Kickoff in Napoleon is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
