In 9-Man, Region 3, Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter’s dream of only having to face region foe Oakes one time this season has come to an end.
These two teams will meet on Saturday with a spot in the State Semifinals on the line.
Napoleon won the first match up 28-7 at Oakes.
Last week, Napoleon defeated Cavalier, who was the team that ended their season in 2017.
Now they have moved on and are focused on not becoming complacent when playing a team they have already defeated.
“Well I guess coach always says that it’s harder to be at good team twice,” offensive lineman Tyler Long said. “That’s probably true. They’re going to be prepare for us because they know what we do.”
“They know you pretty well,” tight end Garrett Jangula said. “They’re a good scouting team the first time we played them. They know what we do the second time around. We’re just going to come back stronger.”
The rematch of the top two teams in Region 3 will take place Saturday at 1:30 p.m., but this time the game is in Napoleon.
