In the past five seasons, no football program has been more successful in the state than St. Mary’s.
The Saints have won four of the past five state titles.
This year is different as St. Mary’s looks to break in a new quarterback, running back and wide receiver.
Despite losing several key seniors from last year’s team, the guys say this year they are just as confident they can bring home another championship.
“I think we’ll be just as fine as we were last year because we have a lot of guys that are working hard in the weight room all summer and coming in as juniors and seniors this year,” Mason Spies said.
St. Mary’s starts their title defense this Friday when they travel to Grafton.
