HS Football: Unselfish play key to Dickinson Trinity success

National Sports

There may not be a hotter team in Class A football than the Dickinson Trinity Titans.

After losing their first game of the season, the fourth-ranked Titans rattled off six straight wins, including a shutout win against Beulah which helped them secure the Region 4 title.

Freshman Nathaniel Jilek has filled in nicely for injured tailback Kaden Kuntz, and the team’s defense posted five shutouts in seven games.

Coach John Odermann says the whole roster has really bought in to the team philosophy.

“We’ve got some really good individual athletes but they’ve really kind of put aside their own stats and their own success for the team’s success,” Odermann said. “They have had their own individual success along the way, but they’ve been focusing on making sure we’re successful as a team.”

Dickinson Trinity hosts Stanley on Saturday afternoon for the first round of the Class A playoffs.
