On a night full of WDA soccer, Century and Mandan battled to a scoreless tie, Minot defeated Bismarck 3-2, and St. Mary’s shut out Legacy 2-0.
Scoring chances may have been hard to come by between the Patriots and Braves, but that was not the case between the Majettes and Demons. Minot kept the ball in its attacking third throughout the first half.
Minot’s Kaity Weaver notched the first goal of the game with a first-touch strike from twenty yards away. That goal made the difference, as the two teams each scored twice later in the game. The Majettes are 3-0 on the season, while the Demons have lost their first two games.
Before Minot and Bismarck hit the pitch, St. Mary’s shut out Legacy 2-0 at the Sanford Sports Complex. Abbi Kopp provided the insurance goal late in the second half for the Saints after putting together a 40-yard run. The victory is St. Mary’s first of the season.
